Dr. Said Al-Touqi has been a key figure in establishing Oman’s waste management sector since 2013. As part of be’ah, he helped shape the country’s infrastructure by implementing best practices and leading the design and construction of engineered landfills. His work resulted in global recognition for Oman’s waste management facilities, achieving a 50% reduction in construction costs through innovative engineering solutions. Dr. Said also led a national project for the permanent closure and clean-up of traditional dumpsites with total area of 27 km2, significantly improving public health in those areas.
